Article: Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Vs. Extraction Yield

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Vs. Extraction Yield

In this insta live as we dive into the slightly more technical topic of TDS vs. extraction yield.  Fortunately our Head Roaster and Trainer, Julián is on hand to talk us through TDS, extraction yield and what it wall means.

UPDATE: We were a bit surprised by the TDS result of the first (fine) coffee, so we went back and measured it again once the coffee had a chance to cool down and got a more accurate result! The result was 1.60, which gives us a much higher extraction yield of 25%, instead of 22.44%. This is why you should always measure TDS three times! 😊

Just DM us on instagram with any questions, and check out our the training section on our website for all your coffee and coffee training needs.
